Synopsis:
First published in English in 2025 and now translated and updated by wetlands, Palestina ovunque collects diaries, poems, prison letters, essays, and artworks by authors from Gaza and the Palestinian diaspora. Texts written despite hunger and bombings, before and after the ceasefire, acts of resistance capable of circumventing censorship and war with the explicit intent of speaking to Gaza, and not only about Gaza.
As the title suggests, Palestine is everywhere as the political subject that best embodies global struggles for the self-determination of peoples. But this touching choral anthology also shows us how even the most heinous war cannot annihilate the stubbornness of life: in Gaza, people continue to harvest olives under the bombs and grind coffee beans and chickpeas together. A baker finds a still-intact oven under the rubble and starts baking again, while the scent of bread spreads through the air. Elsewhere, a little girl draws hopscotch squares in chalk on a gutted street. Palestinians – the poet Mahmoud Darwish reminds us – suffer "from an incurable illness: hope."

With contributions by: Alaa Abd El-Fattah, Nasser Abourahme, Shrouq Aila, Amal Al-Nakhala, Muhammad al-Zaqzouq, Maisara Baroud, Ahmed Bassiouny, Houria Bouteldja, Anees Ghanima, Sahar Khalifeh, Laleh Khalili, Lujayn, Mira Mattar, Lina Meruane, Mohammed Mhawish, Nahil Mohana, Nasser Rabah, Rahul Rao, Adam Rouhana, Ahmad Zaghmouri.
